Guillaume Bury is a junior researcher and filmmaker who has been exploring the collective pathways to the ongoing socio-ecological transition towards low-carbon economies.
His work focuses on the potential of environmental and social justice for an equitable transition, and education for sustainable development to empower marginalised communities, especially youth which increasingly experiences climate-related (eco) anxiety around the world and seek actionable solutions.
Guillaume trained in Visual Ethnography at Leiden University, completing a Master's in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology to combine scientific research and cinematography.
Before that, he undertook a Master's in Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health at King's College London. It provided him with a capacity to work with vulnerable populations (e.g. adolescents, people with cognitive, affective, psychiatric disorders, or addictions), to develop evidence-based strategies and programmes designed with and for communities, and to conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection on the basis of standardised research methods and tools in accordance with an ethical scientific practice.
Thomas Schönberger is a filmmaker and junior researcher dedicated to bridging environmental awareness and impactful narratives.
At the intersection of media and social change, he aims to create compelling stories that inspire positive transformation in a society increasingly shaped by post-truth dynamics, addressing the challenges of misinformation, and advocating for an informed and engaged public to drive meaningful change in sustainability and climate action.
Thomas trained in Visual Ethnography at Leiden University, completing a Master’s in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology to merge scientific research with impactful storytelling.
Paula Kovač is a junior researcher exploring sustainability and community-making. She is passionate about uncovering the stories that shape how we live, collaborate, and build communities, believing that shared narratives are the foundation of progress and understanding.
Her ethnographic research includes understanding how community gardens foster interdependence and care networks between humans and non-human beings.
With a strong belief in research grounded in collaboration, creativity, and compassion, Paula sees multi-sensory and interdisciplinary approaches as key to promoting change and reducing ignorance. She strives to use her work to translate lived stories into tools for progress, fostering inclusivity, awareness, and a more liveable, collective future.
Paula holds an MSc in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology from Leiden University, where she specialised in Global Ethnography.
In addition to her research, Paula has experience in marketing and project management, developing strategic campaigns and leading collaborative initiatives in both the private and non-profit sectors. Her voluntary work with international film festivals reflects her commitment to amplifying diverse voices through creative storytelling and fostering connections across cultures.
